Product Description

Gravure Ink is a widely recognised printing ink for gravure in China, with a product range covering a wide range of gravure printing applications for consumer goods.

Flexographic ink is widely used in the printing of a variety of packaging and decorative products, and are suitable for printing plastic films and other packaging materials on flexographic printing presses.

Solvent-based ink
Solvent-based gravure printing inks are volatile drying inks, i.e., when the solvent overflows from the wet ink film, the ink film changes from liquid to solid.

Characteristics: Solvent-based inks contain organic solvents and drying is achieved by evaporation of the solvent.
These inks usually have good adhesion and flexibility and are suitable for a wide range of non-absorbent materials.

Application: Widely used in the printing of plastic, metal, glass and other materials.

Water-based ink
Water-based inks are dried by evaporation of water or evaporation by heat.

Characteristics: Water-based inks use water as the main solvent, which is environmentally friendly and non-toxic.
They have a low environmental impact from the moisture released during the drying process.

Applications: Mainly used for printing on paper, cardboard, certain plastics and textiles.

Four advantages of water-based ink:

1. No pollution of the atmosphere
Water-based inks use water as a dissolving carrier, so whether in the production process or when used for printing, almost no volatile organic gases (voc) emitted into the atmosphere.

2. Reduce the surface of the printed materials residual toxic substances
Water-based ink does not contain organic solvents, so that the surface of the printed material residues of toxic substances is greatly reduced. This feature in the cigarette, alcohol, food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, children's toys and other strict health requirements of the packaging and printing products, but also reflects the good health and safety.

3. Reduce resource consumption and reduce environmental costs
Water-based ink solid content is higher, can be deposited in a thin ink film. Therefore, relative to solvent-based ink, its coating volume (the amount of ink consumed per unit of printing area) to be less. Tested, compared with solvent-based ink, printing the same number and specifications of printed materials, water-based ink consumption than solvent-based ink by about 10-30%.

4. Improve the safety of the operating environment
Organic solvents and solvent-based ink itself is a flammable liquid, organic solvents are easily volatile, in the air will form an explosive gas mixture, reaching the explosive limit concentration will explode when it meets a spark.

How to choose:

1. according to the different printing materials, choose the appropriate type of ink;

2. according to whether the printed materials need to carry out subsequent processing, select the type of ink with suitable drying time;

3. according to the use of the environment and print the requirements of different environmental performance, choose the right type of ink.
