Slit Coater
It is a coating method in which the coating is extruded from the die head to coat the substrate. The coating thickness is determined by the amount of coating spit out from the die head and the running speed of the coated substrate.
The setting conditions for slit extrusion are the gap between the spit outlet and the spacing between the slit extrusion and the backing roller. As well as the coating supply method is pressurized and dosing pump method. In the past, it was mainly used for medium and high viscosity coating, but recently, it can also be used for low viscosity coating.
The coating liquid is applied to the substrate with a sealed-type applicator head without air bubbles, and there is basically no intrusion of coating defects and dust, etc. The liquid is supplied with the reservoir closed, and there is no change in concentration or viscosity, and there is little solvent evaporation, so that the operating environment is relatively good. It is possible to apply coatings with fillers and dye mixes.
